We all know to be on the look out for suspicious looking packages at transport hubs, so when someone found a cardboard box marked “this will explode in 10 minutes” at Tai Wai MTR station last night, panic, understandably ensued.
The writing on the box was in simplified Chinese.
The alarm was raised by a member of the public who found the box outside a toilet at around 7pm, Oriental Daily reports.
Incidently, the box was actually first spotted by a cleaner at around 3pm, but they didn’t see fit to report it.
The station was evacuated and traffic on the northbound section of Che Kung Miu Road rerouted as seven bomb disposal officers in protective gear arrived on the scene.
Police later confirmed that there were no explosives in the box.
