Pacific Coffee will recycle your cup lids and donate to ocean charity this month

If you’ve got a gourmet coffee habit, you end up burning a hole in your wallet and contributing mounds of waste that ends up in landfills or in the ocean.

Pacific Coffee is trying to lessen the impact of Hongkongers’ coffee consumption by launching their “Lids for Good” campaign to coincide with Ocean Appreciation Month.

You can bring your used coffee cup lids to six different PCC locations, and for every 10 lids you bring in, the Malibu Foundation will donate HKD8 to local organization Ocean Recovery Alliance.

Here are the six locations:

  1. Baptist University, iCafe, 3rd F, Wing Luk Bank Building for Business Studies, HKBU, Kowloon Tong
  2. Hollywood Centre, Shop Nos. 1 & 3-5, G/F, Hollywood Centre, 233 Hollywood Road, Sheung Wan
  3. The Center, Shop 4, Entrance Hall Floor, The Center, 99 Queen’s Road, Central
  4. Lyndhurst Terrace, G/F, The Workstation, 43 Lyndhurst Terrace, Central
  5. Westland Gardens, Shop 9B and 10, Sub-Lower Ground Floor, Westlands Gardens, 1025-1037, King’s Road, 2-10, 12A-12H Westlands Road, Hong Kong
  6. Grand Century Place, Shop 402-403, Level 4, MOKO, 193 Prince Edward Road West, MongKok, Kowloon

Now you can feel a little less guilty the next time you stain your teeth and make your breath smell awful. Now let’s hope PCC keeps up the campaign beyond this month…

Don’t forget that the Ocean in Motion Film Festival is in full swing right now!
