Do you ever think you’d feel less stupid with you bum in the air saying “ommm” if loads of other people were doing it with you? Problem solved. Enter #OmTogetherHK, which hopes to make history on Sept. 14 as the city’s largest outdoor yoga class.
As part of the Green Summer Festival (yeah, we’ve never heard of it either), yogis young, old, weirdly bendy and stubbornly inflexible are invited to the Central Habourfront event space to stretch what their mamma gave them in the great outdoors.
Two of Hong Kong’s most renowned yoga teachers, Claudia Whitney and Dr Bryan Lau, will be leading the two-hour session, while organisers Stretch City Hong Kong will be live streaming the action to their website for the fitness voyeurs out there.
Stretch City Hong Kong CE-“Om” Miko Bantigue said, “Our goal is to place Hong Kong on the map as a centre for yoga and healthy living in Asia. We’re inviting all yoga practitioners and their friends, yoga studios and yoga-friendly brands to sweat and stretch it out together for the greater good of yoga-for-all.”
So bring your mat, water and props to the East Lawn of the Central Harbourfront Event Space at 5pm on Sept. 14 and practice the plough with your peers!
