Olympic diver Guo Jingjing’s former flame dies in car crash

Chinese diver Wang Kenan (33) died in a car accident on Oct. 5 in Tianjin.

Wang Kenan was rumoured to be Olympic gold medalist and wife to Hong Kong tycoon Kenneth Fok Kai-kong, Guo Jingjing’s first love.

Wang competed in the men’s three-meter Springboard finals at the 2004 Summer Olympics but failed to win a gold medal for China after making a crucial mistake in one of his dives. He later announced his retirement in 2005 to work as a coach. He was set to serve as a judge for the 2013 East Asian Games.

Wang leaves his wife and four-month-old daughter.
