The women of the Hong Kong will no longer have to live in fear of accidentally launching their tampons across a table when scrummaging in their handbags for name cards. It happens, okay.
The ingenious crew at Little Things For Good have come up with a practical and totally indiscreet solution for the portable storage of every woman’s loathed but necessary monthly friend.
Tampon tins are nothing new, but this particular range aims to break the awkward taboo around “that time of the month” with graphic (and kinda grim) slogans relating to the female cycle.
These quirky tins read: “CRIME SCENE IN MY PANTS”, “BLOOD SWEAT TEARS”, “LIFE’S LITTLE BLEEDING LUXURY” and “THERE WILL BE BLOOD”… for example.
With these, even totally clueless members of the male population might start to catch on.
Little Things For Good prides itself on creating “unique little things that spread a little goodness” – i.e., they donate some of their proceeds to charities and worthwhile projects around the world.
For this scheme, the group will donate 15 percent of the proceeds from every tin sold to Sunshine Action in Hong Kong and St. Mungo’s Broadway in the UK (no, not the hospital in the Harry Potter books), to help provide homeless or refugee women with sanitary supplies.
“One day I was feeling a bit girl-power and thought ‘why should the only solution be to hide the fact that we carry tampons around, we should tell it like it is,’” Lizzie Earl, from Little Things For Good, explained.
“If they happen to terrify a few boys in the process, well, that could be fun too!”
