For three years already, Ocean Park’s Ying Ying and Le Le have failed to have a baby panda. Ocean Park recently artificially inseminated Le Le’s sperm into 8-year-old Ying Ying after the young couple failed to do so naturally, and last month she showed signs of being pregnant however, Ocean Park was disappointed to find no signs of a baby after an ultrasound. Ocean Park expressed that there is only a 30 to 50 percent chance of pregnancy during the first few years of fertility. As Ying Ying matures, her body will be even more fertile and more suited to carry a baby panda. Ocean Park also notes that pandas can mother a child even when they’re at their twenties.
