MTR staff free 2y/o girl’s hand from door (VIDEO)

At 7.55pm yesterday evening, a 2-year-old girl’s hand got trapped in the door of a Kwun Tong line train.

A witness, surnamed Lee, told Apple Daily that she had just boarded the train at Shek Kip Mei when she heard the little girl screaming.

Lee added that the girl was being carried by her father, and was with a woman who appeared to be her mother, as well as friends of the family. Lee noted that the group spoke Mandarin, and believed them to be mainland tourists.

The group was apparently very anxious and kept pressing the emergency button. Some tried to pull the girl’s hand out of the door’s grip, but others expressed fear that her bones would break.

Eventually, MTR staff arrived to pry open the door with a screwdriver. The girl’s hand was reportedly extremely swollen, and police officers arrived to take her to the hospital.
