It appears that MTR Corporation hasn’t been doing a very good job at protecting ancient relics found at the construction site in To Kwa Wan for the Shatin-Central link, reports the RTHK.
One square-shaped well discovered dates back to the Song dynasty (960 to 1279) and had previously been demanded by conservation groups to be declared a monument, which will affect the MTR rail link lines development.
Now the Antiquities Advisory Board has stepped in after the two structures, believed to be the ancient wells, were seen to be filled with sand and just covered up with canvas, in which the Board believes is not sufficient in protective the ancient relics.
