MTR asks for ‘patience’ after water leakages at HKU, Sai Ying Pun, Kennedy Town stations

A senior MTR manager asked for “tolerance and patience” after water leakages were reported from all three new stations on the west end of the Island Line.

After water was found dripping from the ceiling at HKU Station on Friday, similar leakages have been discovered in both the Sai Ying Pun and Kennedy Town MTR stations, reports Apple Daily.

MTR head of operations Francis Li said that water leakages are “normal” due to the depth of the structures.

He added that train services are not affected and that they have hired contractors to fix the situation.

Li also apologised for the incidents, asking for “tolerance and patience” from passengers.

The HKU and Kennedy Town stations opened on Dec. 28 last year, while Sai Ying Pun Station opened three months later due to delays.
