This year’s Chinese New Year is especially early with the big new year day arriving as soon as the end of Jan.
As Hongkongers are starting to make preparations, the MTR has announced that it will increase its train frequency starting tomorrow.
Every Saturday, there will be 24 more trains and the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan, and Island line will add up to 58 trains each on Sundays. Train frequency will also be increased throughout the new year holidays for people to travel home. Overnight train service will be available on Chinese New Year’s Eve on most lines.
Despite the recent MTR service disruptions, we really do have one of the most efficient train services in the world so let’s all be thankful for it.
