Motorcyclist killed after getting trapped under truck on Island Eastern Corridor

A motorcyclist was killed yesterday evening after he got trapped underneath a truck on an expressway.

At around 10:46pm yesterday, the 41-year-old man, surnamed Tsang, was travelling eastbound along the Island Eastern Corridor. As he approached Chai Wan Park, Tsang reportedly crashed into a stationary highway maintenance truck and got trapped underneath it, police said in a statement.

Tsang was freed by firefighters and rushed to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital with multiple injuries. He was certified dead at 11:20pm.

According to Apple Daily, Tsang was a worker at the Eagle’s Nest Tunnel and was on his way home at the time of the accident.

A police investigation is underway. Anyone who witnessed the accident or has any information on the case should call investigating officers at 3660 6849.
