Mother and young son plunge to death from Hong Kong housing estate, police considering foul play

Hong Kong police are investigating after a woman and her young son plunged to their deaths from a public housing estate this morning.

The pair, aged 38 and 10, were found by a security guard at the bottom of King Lung House in Lung Yat Estate at around 7:30am. They were both certified dead when paramedics arrived on the scene.

According to a police source who spoke to the SCMP, the woman had a history of emotional problems.

It is believed that she and her son fell or jumped from one of the flats in the estate, but it is not yet known whether they lived in the building.

Crime officers from Tuen Mun are investigating whether there were any suspicious circumstances or an element of foul play surrounding the deaths.

The news comes nine days after two brothers, aged 8 and 10, were found dead along with their father in a Ma On Shan flat in an apparent murder-suicide.
