Police are on the lookout for a group of more than five men who were caught on dash cam smashing the windows of a car in the early hours of yesterday morning

Video posted by Apple Daily today shows two white cars pull up next to the car, and at least five men wearing surgical masks and wielding sticks can be seen getting out of the two vehicles and smashing the front and rear window of the car. The attack lasted around 10 seconds, after which the gang get back into their cars and drive off.

Police arrived at the scene shortly after receiving a report at around 2:09am on Sunday where they found the car — a white seven-seater Toyota — with broken windows, headlights and side mirrors parked outside the Yau Oi housing estate in Tuen Mun.

Officers have made no arrests yet, but believe between five to seven people were responsible.

The car’s owner, a man surnamed Tam, told the newspaper that his pregnant wife is the one who usually drives car to take their two children to and from school.

When asked by the paper why his car was targeted, Tam replied that he didn’t know as he had committed no criminal offenses, and had no debts.

He added that it was possible that his car was confused for another white car on the estate with a similar registration plate to his car apart from one letter.
