More press than protestors in protest against mainland tourists

Did the numerous critics arguing that insulting mainland tourists is not just bigotry but also won’t solve problems dampened anti-mainland sentiments somewhat? Only about 20 people showed up yesterday for a protest against mainland tourists despite 200 people signing up on Facebook for the protest. A 40-strong press pack, however, followed the events of the protest.

This time, the protestors wheeled suitcases in imitation of mainland visitors while speaking loudly in Putonghua at Mong Kok shops popular with tourists. Dr. York Chow of the Equal Opportunities Commission dismissed these protestors as “pointless.” We would go even further to say that they are pretty childish!
