More people shopping on-the-go!

According to a MasterCard Online Shopping Survey two in five people use their smartphones to shop.

The survey interviewed people across 14 regions and countries in Asia Pacific, and in Hong Kong, 40 percent – 15 percent increase from 2011 – of the interviewed claim to have shopped on their phones. 90 percent of those who shop on their phones say they have made a purchase within the last three months.

So what do people buy using their phones? In Hong Kong, 25.4 percent bought cinema tickets, 24.9 percent bought clothing and accessories, 17.1 percent bought deals and e-coupons.

Across the region, the Chinese are the most savvy phone shoppers, with 59.4 percent making purchases via their smartphones, Thailand comes second with 51.2 percent, South Korea 47.6 percent, India 47.1 percent, Indonesia 46.7 percent and Taiwan 45.2 percent.
