More details emerge about attack on secondary school student during street demonstration

Reports of an attack on a secondary school student have now been confirmed by both student activist group Scholarism and the school that the victim attends.

The student, aged 17, was left with broken tooth after a random man attacked him while distributing fliers and promoting a class boycott. Ouch, rude much?

The victim, Chow Ka-ho, is a student at Shatin Tsung Tsin Secondary School and was reportedly on the loudspeaker outside Tai Wai MTR on Thursday morning when his assailant struck him.

In this case of ‘smack-and-run’, the police was notified shortly afterwards, but no arrests were made.

Scholarism, a student-run activist group, released a statement condemning the attack and encouraged witnesses to come forth and identify the random attacker.

Principal of Shatin Tsung Tsin Secondary School, Cheung Man-wai, also gave his two cents on the attack, and urged people to respect opposing and different opinions.

Warrior Chow, however, said that he would continue supporting the boycott started by university students, and insisted that the group would not be put off, “no matter what we suffer.”

Way to go, Chow!
