Are you experiencing post-dragon boat races blues? Fear not! There will be even more drumming, paddling, and drunk cheering at the Hong Kong Dragon Boat Carnival on the first weekend in July.
Thousands of the world’s best dragon boat athletes will compete in three days of intense races at Victoria Harbour, where dozens of international teams will compete for different championships, including a race for breast cancer survivors.
Fingers crossed that nobody gets their paddle caught in plastic bags, food packaging, or any other junk in our harbour!
For spectators and those using the cultural experience as an excuse to get drunk (tut-tut), there’ll be a beer festival sponsored by San Miguel at the harbour in Tsim Tsa Tsui, where you can cheer on the teams while drinking as much as your liver and wallet can handle.
The festival will also include flip cup and drinking competitions for those desperate to relive their college days and end up in hospital.
Live music performances will be held in the evening, with a lineup featuring LMF, RubberBand, and Ella from S.H.E.
Boat racing and beer followed by live music? We feel better already.
