A survey of teachers found that 64 percent of parents’ complaints to the school were “unreasonable requests,” such as demanding a change in a school’s lunch provider because it did not have pizza on the menu, or expecting a five-minute grace period for latecomers to class because waking up earlier would affect their children’s sleep quality.
72 percent of teachers also found the attitude and tone of complaining parents “inappropriate.” According to Nancy Lam, a kindergarten principal and federation member, there are more and more “monster parents” about and more parental education is needed.
