Here’s a pretty cool idea — mobile app Scoopshot lets you sell your photos to the media or other companies and get published, with newsworthy photos especially in demand. If you love to take random shots of Hong Kong, definitely check out this app.
Some Scoopshooters overseas have earned thousands of dollars with the ability to command as much as HK$5,000 for each photo. The more description you write for your photo, the more likely it will be sold. In Hong Kong, the app looks like it’s just getting traction — for example, Apple Daily is buying specific photos snapped by the public via ScoopShot for HK$25 a pop. We hope the idea takes off and more news media use it!
