Young law student Vivian Chan, 19, was one of the two victims from Hong Kong who died in the blast that shoot Bangkok on Monday. She was also a British national.
Her loved ones have started a Facebook page called “R.I.P. Vivian Chan Pray for Bangkok”, where friends, family members and strangers have been leaving messages.
Page administrators asked visitors to post any “good memories” and to leave “any words [they] want to tell her”.
Those who knew her described her as a foodie, a lover of Cantopop, and a cheerful girl with “the brightest smile I’d ever seen”.
British Prime Minister David Cameron expressed his sadness about Chan’s death in a tweet:
The blast, which occurred at the busy Erawan shrine, killed 20 people and injured more than 120, including six Hong Kong residents. Three suspects have been identified.
Yesterday the Hong Kong government issued a red travel warning for Bangkok, urging residents to avoid non-essential travel to the Thai capital.
