A container suddenly exploded at around 5am this morning at the Kwai Chung Container Terminal 8.
The massive explosion completely deformed the container and blew off two more containers sitting on top of it. The smoke from the explosion overwhelmed the area and fire fighters were called to extinguish the fire.
The terminal is not used for storing dangerous materials or goods so the police are still investigating what caused the explosion.
