A 40-year-old secondary school teacher appeared in court yesterday accused of molesting two students on nine occasions over three years.
The alleged victims are sisters, who attended the school where the suspect taught, according to Ming Pao.
The teacher, Ng Kwok-keung yesterday pleaded not guilty to nine counts of indecent assault at West Kowloon Magistrates’ Court in relation to his treatment of the two girls.
Prosecutors allege that most of the offences took place in his car, which he used to drive the sisters — referred to in court as X and Y and now 19 and 18-years-old respectively — to and from school between 2014 to 2017.
The older sister X, told the court that in June 2014, Ng drover her to the Lantau Link Viewing Platform, said he liked her, held her hand and caressed her face without her consent. She was 15-years-old at the time.
The newspaper reported that X said she felt sick, pulled her hand out of Ng’s grasp, and told him that he has a family and cannot have these kinds of feelings for her.
After being rejected by X, Ng then turned his attention to her younger sister Y. According to Apple Daily, Ng would drive Y home from school every week, and would often leave WhatsApp messages telling her he likes her with some heart emojis.
Y accused Ng of assaulting her on eight occasions in his car and that the alleged behavior included Ng kissing her, touching her thigh and her breasts. At one point he even told Y that he was infertile and put her hand on his private parts.
She told the court that she tried to refuse the defendant’s advances, but said that Ng would get very emotional when she did.
When asked by the defense why she stayed in contact with Ng outside the classroom, Y said he was her teacher who had control over her grades, and that was worried that no one would believe her.
Y also denied an assertion made by the defense that she was in a relationship with Ng.
The case will resume tomorrow.
