A married mainlander, Liang Yaoqiang, chopped his 35-year-old lover Yeung Sau-yu more than 200 times in anger, after finding a used condom outside their flat.
The victim, a shopkeeper, did not die immediately after the attack in their Cheung Sha Wan flat, but eventually succumbed to her injuries after Liang left her helpless and bleeding on the ground while he went to take a shower before fleeing the scene.
Yeung had admitted to Liang about an affair with another man during an argument. The day before Yeung was attacked, she had sex twice in the flat with her new lover before going out. When Yeung returned home after midnight, Liang confronted her about a used condom, attacked her and let her bleed to death.
The trial is currently ongoing at the High Court.
