A woman in her mid 40s has been taken into police custody after she reportedly left her boyfriend’s death unreported and remained in the flat where his body was for two days.
At 6:20am today, the woman called the police to say her boyfriend was unconscious.
When an ambulance arrived at the flat at Mei Tung Estate, they found that the man had been dead for “quite some time” and his blood had started pooling within his body, Apple Daily reports.
The woman told police that her boyfriend, in his 50s, had died two days ago, but she had stayed with the corpse instead of reporting his death until this morning.
When asked why she hadn’t called the police earlier, the woman said, “I don’t know [these things]! I thought we would go together, I don’t know how to do these things!”
Police took the woman into custody for questioning and have cordoned off the flat for investigation. The case is being treated as suspicious.
