Man sues daughter-in-law for hitting his head with a phone as he mediated argument

A 74-year-old Malaysia-based overseas Chinese man filed a lawsuit against his Hong Kong daughter-in-law after she was alleged to have hit his head with a phone while he attempted to mediate an argument during a visit in September.

The man, surnamed Wong, is demanding compensation of medical costs incurred from the alleged incident, as well as a “public apology” from his daughter-in-law, reports Oriental Daily.

Wong and his wife flew in from Malaysia to stay with his son and daughter-in-law on Tai Tam Road between August and September, according to the paper.

He accused his daughter-in-law of smacking him on his head with a phone as he stepped in during an argument between the younger couple in an attempt to stop them fighting, the paper said.
