At around 6am yesterday morning, a 40-something year old man was caught trying to steal a porn magazine (which apparently still exist, despite the Internet) from a 7-Eleven on Temple Street, and fled in a panic, apparently forgetting his ID and suspected drugs in the process.
Apple Daily reports that the cashier on duty, surnamed Tang, had been suspicious of the would-be thief when he entered due to his “appearing like an addict”, and asked a regular customer, surnamed Chan, to stand by the door in case he tried to steal something.
The suspect reportedly attempted to purchase a newspaper worth HKD7, into which a pornographic magazine had been slipped. When Tang asked about the magazine, the man apparently attempted to flee, but was stopped by Chan.
The two men had a brief struggle, during which the suspect dropped his messenger bag. He then reportedly exclaimed that he would pay for the magazine, but ran away instead.
Tang and Chan called police to the scene, who found that the suspect’s bag contained his HKID, a plastic bag containing suspected crystal meth (or “ice”), and various unidentified drug paraphernalia. We guess you could say his porno pinching plan went… tits up.
