Man steals iPhone from sleeping minibus passenger, hero gives chase and stops him

Sometimes, a regular citizen finds the courage to rise above it all and do the right thing, becoming a hero in the process.

Yesterday afternoon, a 32-year-old man surnamed Liu dozed off on a minibus, his precious iPhone 6 Plus clenched in between his thighs, reports Apple Daily.

A thief saw his opportunity, grabbing the smartphone before slipping off the bus, which was near Kwai Hing on its way to Mong Kok from Kwai Chung.

A 33-year-old hero named Chen (maybe this is the age when greatness occurs in all of us) witnessed the crime, and promptly woke the victim up, urging Liu to follow him off the vehicle.

Together they chased down the thief, and the three got engaged in a minor kerfuffle. A nearby security guard mistook the commotion for a standard fight, and called the police.

The police arrived on the scene and arrested the thief, who sustained injuries to his hands and feet.

The hero was also injured, and was taken to hospital along with the thief.
