Man stabbed by 8 attackers on Kwun Tong expressway in suspected triad attack

A 24-year-old man has been seriously injured after he was stabbed by eight men on the Kwun Tong Bypass yesterday evening.

At around 9:50pm yesterday, the victim, surnamed Fung, was in a taxi on Kwun Tong Bypass near Kowloon Godown when two cars reportedly gave chase and flanked the cab from either side, forcing the driver to stop, Oriental Daily reports

Eight knife-wielding men jumped out of the cars. According to Apple Daily, Fung got out of the taxi and tried to run away, but the men caught up to him and reportedly stabbed him multiple times in the arms, legs, and back before getting back into their cars and driving away. The taxi driver then called the police, who rushed to the scene.

Fung was sent to the hospital, and was said to be in “serious condition” this morning. Police found one of the vehicles believed to be operated by the assailants in Yau Tong at around midnight today.

The 24-year-old is reported to have a gang background, and a police source told Oriental Daily that the attack is suspected to be triad related. No arrests have been made so far.
