Man froze to death in sleep

As Hong Kong weather dips to single digit numbers, more and more people are seeking medical help for cold-related illnesses.

An 81-year-old man in Wong Tai Sin public housing froze to death yesterday around eight in the morning. He fell unconscious in his sleep and his wife woke to find his lips purple and his fingers hard and cold. Despite emergency treatment at the hospital, the old man passed away.

Yesterday, 1,556 seek help for cold-related ailments and 122 people were admitted to the hospital. Check in on your folks guys, and turn the heater up way high.
