A 47-year-old man who fell to his death from a multi-storey car park yesterday evening hit and injured a passing security guard, who has been hospitalised.
At around 9.30pm yesterday, the man, surnamed Ng, fell from the eighth floor of the Yau Ma Tei Carpark Building overlooking the busy Temple Street Night Market, Apple Daily reports.
As he fell, he reportedly bounced off the canopy of a street stall and crashed into a woman who was passing by, surnamed Wu. Ng and Wu, a 49-year-old security guard, both landed into the middle of the road, according to a witness.
Wu regained consciousness a few minutes later. Two ambulances were called to take the her and Ng to hospital, but Ng could not be resuscitated.
Following initial investigation, police suspect Ng was committing suicide. Two handprints were found on a railing in the car park.
