A quick nap is a great way to relax — but there’s a time and place.

One place we definitely don’t recommend you trying to get a bit of shut eye is in your car, parked in the middle of a busy road, near a traffic light.

Video of a man and a woman slumped in the front seats of a stationary white car on Hankou Road in Tsim Sha Tsui was posted on Facebook on Sunday.

The person filming the video can be heard giving a running commentary in the background, saying that the traffic lights have turned green at least 10 times but the white car remained put.

It has been viewed more than 28,000 times since then.

It’s not clear if the pair were under the influence, or even just tired, but the brake lights were on, which means that the male driver had his foot on the brake when he was dozing off.

While some commenters were concerned that the driver may have been under the influence at the time, others berated the person filming the video for not waking up the driver and passenger, while others said he should have put the phone down and called the police.

A police spokesperson confirmed to Coconuts HK that they received a report at around 10am on Sunday Dec. 16 that a couple were spotted asleep in the front of a car that had stopped in the middle of Hankou Road.

However, when police arrived at the scene, the car was nowhere to be found.

The police classed the case as ‘vehicle obstruction’ and no further action was taken.
