Man drunk steals taxi for a joy ride

Early this morning a 43-year-old man stopped a taxi on Jordan Road where he threatened then ordered the 59-year-old taxi driver, to leave the vehicle.

Mad drunk and without a driving license the 43-year-old took the taxi out for a cruise, taking it to the Salisbury Road bus terminal just outside the Star Ferry Pier, crashing the vehicle into railings and pillars surrounding him.

According to the SCMP, the intoxicated man was four times over the legal breath-alcohol limit and he has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving, assault occasioning actual bodily hard, theft, driving without a license and driving without third-party insurance.
