A filial son with a PhD from City University jumped from the first floor of Pacific Place, scaring shoppers badly. It was suspected that he is emotionally unstable from the death of both his parents. The 32-year-old has a doctorate in architecture and graduated in 2012, but just as he was about to start his career, he lost both his parents. He was so struck by the loss that he had to undergo therapy, but it appeared to be ineffective.
On Monday 11am, the man walked back and forth on the first floor of Pacific Place before hauling himself over the glass barrier and crashed six feet onto the ground floor below, injuring his chest and stomach. Despite his injuries, he was conscious but very agitated. A suicide note was found on him.
