Man claims he got sick from PARK n SHOP biscuits sold 2 years past expiration date

A man claims he got sick after eating biscuits that were two years past their expiration date.

He had bought the packet yesterday evening for HKD15.40 at a PARKnSHOP in City One in Sha Tin.

He opened the packet, had a bite of the savoury biscuits, and immediately spat it out because it tasted off, reports Ming Pao.

To his horror, he realised that the packet had expired almost two whole years ago on April 26, 2013.

Later, he suffered from diarrhoea and went to the doctor.

He left a complaint on a government hotline but did not receive a response.

A PARKnSHOP rep told Ming Pao that the store was inspected immediately after they received inquiries regarding the story.

They said they had contacted the man to offer a refund and new, unexpired goods, but he apparently refused (unsurprisingly).

This particular PARKnSHOP has been the target of a boycott in the past, with shoppers complaining about rotten fruits and vegetables, ridiculously long lines, and poor service.
