A 34-year-old man charged with the murder of a 15-year-old girl who was found in a dumpster in Mong Kok this week will appear in court this afternoon.
The suspect was first arrested at his apartment in Kam Fong Street Yau Ma Tei on Tuesday, just hours after the girl’s body was discovered by a cleaner inside a “red-white-blue” laundry bag at a refuse collection centre in Portland Street.
The girl has been identified as Kwok Wai-ming.
Yesterday, the man, surnamed Liu, was escorted on a reconstruction while hooded. Officers took him to his home, followed by the Harbour Hotel on Canton Road and finally to the refuse centre, around 300 metres from the hotel.
It is thought Liu may have killed the girl – who was found naked from the waist down, bound with adhesive tape and with injuries to her head, neck and limbs – in a sex game. Police have confirmed that she had had intercourse before she died.
