A 32-year-old Hong Kong man surnamed Chung was arrested yesterday for allegedly hitting a woman whose suitcase was in his way at Kowloon Tong Station.
According to Oriental Daily, the incident occurred at around 4:30pm yesterday when Chung accused a mainland Chinese woman, surnamed Deng, of blocking an escalator with her suitcase.
A witness surnamed Chan said on Facebook that Deng refused to let go of Chung’s arm. Chung then reportedly struck Deng twice across the face, with a force which Chan likened to a martial arts technique.
Deng then collapsed to the floor. Chan wrote that Chung then walked away, despite MTR workers trying to stop him. He was arrested before he left the station.
Deng, 49, said she felt dizzy and was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.
