Police have arrested a 41-year-old man suspected of sneaking onto a university campus by wearing a girl’s school uniform, and spraying the campus’ CCTV cameras with paint.
The alarm was raised by a member of teaching staff at the Chinese University of Hong Kong on Wednesday after he found two CCTV cameras on a bridge leading to one of the university’s buildings covered in red paint.
The building in question was the Charles Kuen Kao Building, which is home to the university’s faculty of science.
After an initial investigation, police arrested a man surnamed Lee at his apartment in Tuen Mun on Friday where officers found two sets of girl’s school uniforms, a pair of women’s shoes, and a small amount of crystal meth, on.cc reports.
Lee, who worked as a decorator on the university’s campus, would access parts of campus by wearing the school uniform and using an ID card that he had stolen.
Apple Daily reported that over the last five years he was caught stealing items from lockers, using drugs, and setting up peephole cameras in the women’s changing room. In all instances, he was reportedly wearing a school uniform.
Lee, who is believed to be a transvestite, also reportedly stole a female student’s underwear from her dormitory in 2012.
Lee has reportedly been imprisoned in 2012, 2014, and 2015. He was recently released from jail after completing a 32-month sentence.
