What a horrible case. Police last night arrested a 37-year-old man after he stabbed his girlfriend in a To Kwa Wan street with a kitchen knife following an argument.
The woman, a 31-year-old woman surnamed Lam, was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital following the attack near the entrance of an apartment block on Hung Wan Street, where the victim lives with the suspect, surnamed Tse, and the pair’s young daughter.
According to HK01, neighbors have reported hearing the couple quarrel in the moments preceding the incident.
Police are still investigating what caused the dispute, which allegedly led Tse to pursue his partner and stab her by the building’s entryway.
The scene, to which detectives returned about 3am this morning, was confronting.
Video sent to Apple Daily from a reader shows a large number of officers gathered at the site. A man can be heard in the background saying: “there’s blood everywhere, her face is covered in blood, her entire body is bloodied.”
The victim suffered wounds to her head, neck, abdomen and hands and was in an unconscious state when paramedics arrived, the outlet reported.
The suspect was photographed by reporters in the back of a police van wearing blood-stained jeans.
He was taken to Kowloon City police station. RTHK reports the knife was found inside a cardboard box on the street.
Police were later seen bringing Lam’s young daughter to the hospital last night also to be examined.
