A 22-year-old man suspected of operating a gay massage parlour in Mong Kok that offers sexual services was arrested on Wednesday night in a police sting operation.
Two undercover male police officers arrived at the Far East Consortium Mongkok Building on Nelson Street at around 11pm and arrested the man for allegedly keeping a vice establishment.
The man is said to be university-educated and once “ran in a beauty pageant” in high school, reports Oriental Daily.
The massage parlour apparently offers a variety of sexual services, including hand jobs, sessions involving multiple masseuses, as well as a HKD1,500 “full service package”. The massage parlour purportedly advertises on gay-friendly websites.
The police said that they had previously ran a number of unsuccessful undercover operations there due to the “highly alert” nature of the staff, according to the paper.
They also told local media that the massage parlour made close to HKD5,000 in two hours.
Massage tables, condoms, oils and personal lubricants were seized by police as evidence.
Under Hong Kong law, prostitution is legal, although there are stringent guidelines around it. Sex workers are allowed to operate alone, while organised prostitution, causing or procuring another to be a prostitute, living on the prostitution of others, as well as public solicitation are illegal.
