In scenes reminiscent of a Hong Kong police movie, onlookers watched on yesterday as a man and woman tried to escape a vice crackdown in Tsim Sha Tsui by climbing out a second-floor window and dropping to the street.

The pair’s desperate attempt to flee from the building on Prat Avenue — a location believed to house several ‘one-woman brothels’  — was caught on camera by passersby in the area during the officers’ raid around 4pm.

The footage, sent to Apple Daily, shows the pair trying to work their way down the exterior wall of James S Lee Mansion.

The man, wearing a blue jacket, lowers himself closer to the street by climbing down an overhanging sign.

Though it’s still a decent drop to the ground, he managed to take off after landing, though an eye witness, surnamed Chu suspect, said he suspected the man was injured by the fall.

Left hanging, literally, the woman  — later identified as a 29-year-old from the mainland surnamed Liao — didn’t make it down as quickly.

After holding onto pipes from an air conditioning unit for about two minutes, she jumped, narrowing avoiding an unsuspecting female pedestrian below.

The fall left Liao with injuries in need of treatment at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Police, meanwhile, did not make any arrests. After a preliminary investigation, they listed the case as an accidental injury.
