A 24-year-old man was allegedly robbed of an iPhone 7 and HKD5,000 in cash and pushed out of a car by three men who he purportedly owed money to.
The man, surnamed Wong, was taken into a car in Kowloon by three men in the early hours of Sunday morning and asked to settle his debt, according to Apple Daily. It is not yet clear what the man owed money for.
When Wong asked for more time, the three men were said to have noticed his iPhone 7 and presumed him to be deliberately withholding payment. They reportedly proceeded to take the smartphone, as well as the HKD5,000 he had in his wallet.
Wong was said to have then been thrown out of the car outside Cheung Sha Wan Plaza, sustaining injuries in his head, neck and leg. He walked to nearby Cheung Sha Wan Police Station and reported the incident.
It is unclear how much money Wong owes. At the time of publication, the three alleged perpetrators are still at large.
