A 41-year-old woman was rushed to hospital today after her husband allegedly stabbed her in the face with a pair of scissors during an argument at a Hong Kong shopping center.
HK01 reports that police received a call just after noon that a woman had been attacked outside a bank on the third floor of the Heng On Commercial Centre in Ma On Shan
When police arrived at the scene, they found the 41-year-old woman, surnamed Liu, with injuries to the left side of her neck and ear. Shop owners and eyewitnesses told on.cc that they heard a loud scream, while one person described Liu as being “completely covered in blood.”
An ambulance took Liu to the Prince of Wales Hospital, where she’s reportedly in a stable condition. Friends and family were also at the hospital after being informed of what happened.
Liu’s husband, a 41-year-old man surnamed Lam, fled the scene after other shoppers tried to intervene, but officers apprehended him outside a bus stop nearby. He was reportedly then taken to hospital in an emotional state.
A preliminary police investigation found that shopkeepers had heard the couple yelling at each other, but it remained unclear what exactly they were arguing about.
Police also took from the scene a pair of bloodied scissors, which were inside a plastic bag that had been tossed on the ground near where Liu was attacked.
