Make ‘Hong Kong Bar Hop’ the song to start your weekend (video)

If you’re already in a suitably silly Friday night party mood, this might just push you over the edge into utter head-spinning, finger-clicking delirium.

HONG KONG BAR HOP, launched just last night at Propaganda, is the gay-disco, dance-techno track we’ve all been practicing our vogue for.

The campest tune you’ll hear ’til Christmas came to fruition when celebrated Hong Kong radio broadcaster/poet/playwright Dino Mahoney (AKA Majiho) performed the lyrics as a rhythmic spoken word piece in London’s ever-hip Covent Garden.

London producer Steve Halliwell (AKA Darktown) just happened to be passing through, and immediately saw the piece’s potential as a dance track with a difference.

Together – with the help of playwright Simon Wu (AKA Disco Bunny – everybody’s got to have an alter ego these days, darling) – the pair mashed their talents like of tub of tatties to come up with the infectious hip-popping, tail-hopping triumph you see before you.

Happy Friday, bunnies!
