A three-year-old mainland boy, who was reportedly left to his own devices while his parents shopped, was taken to hospital yesterday when he trapped himself under a cherry tree at Times Square mall.
Witnesses report seeing the boy running around the potted blossom in the atrium and pulling its branches, causing the three-metre tall plant to fall onto his back.
Staff from the Causeway Bay shopping centre reportedly ran to the boy’s aid and called the police.
He was admitted to Ruttonjee Hospital where he received treatment and was later discharged.
According to Ming Pao Daily, the toddler and his parents were on a five-day trip from Hebei province in mainland China.
The parents were said to be upstairs shopping when the accident happened.
The mother said the mall staff were efficient and courteous in offering their assistance so she is not considering filing a case against them at present.
So nothing to do with the fact that it might get laughed out of court then.
