A mainland businessman, surnamed Lu, has been sentenced to three weeks in jail and ordered to pay a fine of HKD3,000 after he pled guilty to charges of indecent assault against a female flight attendant and disobeying orders given by the flight crew.
The incident occurred on June 5 on a Cathay Pacific flight from Hong Kong to Milan, where the accused lives, reports Apple Daily.
Tsuen Wan Magistrates’ Court heard this week that Lu kept walking up and down the aisle during the flight despite warnings from the crew, even asking if he could smoke at the back of the plane.
He was then arrested when he entered the kitchen area, grabbed an attendant by the waist and called her “honey”.
Lu claimed that his behaviour on the flight was caused by the alcohol he consumed before boarding.
On the bright side for the drunken and hopefully embarrassed man, he may completely avoid his jail sentence as he has already been detained for 21 days.
