It was quite a scene.
The unfaithful husband drove his mistress down the street in his expensive black Audi A8.
His wife, ignominiously clinging to the hood, furiously smashed the windshield with a stick, as the car rolled past onlookers.
“Get out of the car now,” the wife shouted, in one of the clips uploaded to Weibo of the very public domestic dispute, which took place last Wednesday in Nanjing, Jiangsu, province.
The roadway ruckus soon spilled over into the street, after the car stopped at a nearby crossroads, symbolic of where the couple’s marriage is currently.
According to China Press, the husband Huang and his wife had been discussing getting a divorce and selling their apartment. The already rocky relationship, however, took a further hit when Huang’s wife, who was not named, discovered her spouse had transferred their assets into his name.
The arrival of the mistress on the scene clearly didn’t help matters.
“Yesterday you were looking at the new flat with me and now you are with a mistress,” said the wife, as she hit Huang with a stick in front of the growing crowd of onlookers.
Some of the bystanders also decided to get involved, with the person filming the incident opening the car door and insulting the mistress, who, under pressure from the crowd, left the car and, shortly after, became locked in a tussle with the other corners of the love triangle.
Finally police arrived and put a stop to the madness.
After the incident, netizens found posts Weibo from the mistress, surnamed Dao, who said she had no regrets.
“I don’t feel regretful for falling in love with Huang. It doesn’t harm anyone or commit a crime,” she wrote, seemingly ignoring the emotional anguish visible on the face of her married lover’s wife during the altercation.
However, appearing to acknowledge the dangers of home-wreckers, she also urged wives to keep an eye on their husbands.
