Pair of newborn cows gets trapped on 3rd-floor rooftop in Ma On Shan village

Two newborn cows apparently got lost in Ma On Shan yesterday and trapped on the third floor of a village house before their whining caught the attention of local residents.

According to Apple Daily, the calves, both about one metre long and standing at around one metre tall, got separated from their herd at 7pm last night.

The young cows then broke into a village house under construction in Shap Pat Heung, making their way up the stairs to the roof on the third floor.

Unable to find their way back down, the confused cows began whining and attracted the attention of passersby, who called the police.

Firefighters soon arrived on the scene, using long blades of grass to gently herd the calves back down the stairs. Immediately after reaching the ground level, the babies were reunited with their family.

Considering the cattle not a threat to the public, the authorities then left the herd to their adorable re-moo-nion.
