It looks like we won’t be able to buy live poultry in a while because the government claims it has no immediate plans to lift the current ban on live-chicken imports from farms in Shenzhen.
The ban was made after the third case of H7N9 bird flu was confirmed in Hong Kong.
A 65-year-old man was infected with the bird flu after travelling to Shenzhen earlier this month. He is currently under intensive care at the Queen Mary Hospital.
The government reminds Hong Kong residents to stay away from live poultry and wet markets when travelling to China.
