Last night’s rainstorm 1 in every 200-year event!

What we all witnessed yesterday was something that our generation and next generation will never experience, as it’s a once in 200-year event, according to the Drainage Services Department.

Not only did the rooftop of Festival Walk collapse, turning the entire mall into a water park, 29 other areas in Hong Kong suffered from extreme flooding. Wong Tai Sin and Tsuen Wan were one of the worst hit areas.

The Hong Kong Observatory forecasts more heavy rainfall to continue to affect Hong Kong. Today was no exception, with an amber rainstorm waning issued in the morning.

Stay safe and dry everyone!
