More than 50,000 red packets filled with bitcoin coupons were handed out in the biggest bitcoin giveaway in the world yesterday.
Those who received one of the 20,000 distributed only received packets worth HK$10, a fraction of the cost of one bitcoin.
30,000 packets are still available at the IFC, Lan Kwai Fong, Times Square, Sogo department store in Causeway Bay, The One, and Wanchai and Mong Kok MTR stations.
The giveaway hopes to promote the use of bitcoins in the city.
